This workshop will include an introduction to historical and contemporary use of beads, a research visit to draw upon the cultural heritage of Armenia, and a sharing of beadwork samples.  Commercially made beads come in a wide range of colours and shapes, but there is also the possibility of exploring beads from other materials such as wood, bamboo or recycled materials to explore current concerns and forms.Through discussion, we will open up creative, imaginative possibilities and identify a line of enquiry for each participant to be tested, refined and resolved into a wearable piece of jewellery.
